How You Can Donate to Help

Donate any amount to help NELA Bar Foundation provide services to needy individuals who cannot otherwise afford legal advice and counseling.  Navigating the Louisiana legal system can be an overwhelming challenge to some people. The purpose of this organization is to HELP with that.  

Having a reliable source of accurate information is crucial in making decisions in legal matters.  That's where our volunteer attorneys can help. Northeast Louisiana Bar Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) charity, IRS Tax ID #46-4208177, and as such, accepts donations.  There are many ways to donate.

Where do donations go?  NELA Bar Foundations has expenses just like any business/nonprofit organization. We have rent, utilities, employees, and costs like advertising, printing, CPA, and other expenses.  Your donations along with other grants and funding sources provide for those costs. NOTE: NELA Bar Foundation does not pay attorneys who provide legal advice at Ask-a-Lawyer clinics or online-Q&A's--those lawyers volunteer their time and expertise to help the public.  Different lawyers throughout the 14 parishes served volunteer different amounts of time and counseling services.  So, they contribute by donating their TIME and Knowledge.
